The second label printed is the Dot Check Label. This label is used to

determine whether the printhead is in need of replacement. 'Good' and

'Faulty' Dot Check Labels are shown below:

Good Test Label:

Even pattern consistency

indicates that the printhead

is operating normally.

Faulty Test Label:

Streaks in the pattern

indicate a dirty or faulty

printhead (see Chapter 5).
